Boundaries!!!!!!

Why did we set boundaries for dealing with our food challenges?

Boundaries define what we think is acceptable and what we hope to achieve. It sets out our timeline targets and methods of achieving this.

What are the consequences when we step over our boundaries?

Boundaries enable us to achieve the desired outcome.

Is that the outcome God wants from us or what the world wants from us?

Consider physical beauty:

What does man consider as physical beauty?

What does God consider as physical beauty.

Lets read 1 Samuel 16:7

But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

Proverbs 31: 30

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Galatians 1 :10

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Luke 16:15

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

1 Peter 3:3-4

3  Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4  But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Do you think that the idol of looks has a negative impact on our problem with

food?

Why or why not?

In order to change our behavior, we must change our focus. When we care more about what God thinks than what the world thinks we will not feel driven to eat when we gain a few pounds. After all, God can teach us through our mistakes and he does not demand physical perfection.

God loves us regardless of what we look like on the outside. What matters is the heart and soul of a person. When we accept what God wants from us and strive to obey his commands, follow his direction and accept his word we will be able to break the strongholds that food has on us.

Proverbs 3: 5-6

5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. You are precious to God.

God has feelings and affections for you in a deeply intimate way.

Deuteronomy 14:2 says:

“Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has

chosen you to be His treasured possession.”

You are precious to God just like a child is precious to their

parents. God sees you as His treasure, His beloved, and His

darling. Never forget that you are God’s treasured possession, His precious son or daughter.
